March ID Competition

Competition Results 

Congratulations to Julia Walker whose name was pulled out of the list of correct answers for the February ID competition – it was of course a Mantis Shrimp. Amazing little guys who really pack a punch and can swing their club at speeds between 31-52 miles per hour! This was research done after one literally smashed its way out of a tank it was being held in.

So, on to this month’s competition. I’m sticking with the South Africa theme as a friend took this a few weeks ago. I’m going to give two vouchers away this month. To go into the draw 1. I want the family name and draw 2. the actual species.

We shall be running the Naturalist Course later this year (when it warms up a bit) which gives you a fascinating introduction to what you are actually seeing down there.
